About the Funding

This funding opportunity is authorized by the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. The Act, signed into law on August 16, 2022, directed funding to support financially distressed farmers to expedite assistance to distressed borrowers of direct or guaranteed loans administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) whose operations face financial risk.

Funding Focus

The Distressed Borrowers and Financially Distressed Farmers Assistance Network (DBAN) will address the immediate needs of distressed borrowers, financially distressed farmers, and underserved Farmers, Ranchers, and Foresters by providing holistic support to tackle their unique financial challenges. By offering tailored, one-on-one support and technical assistance, DBAN aims to stabilize farmers financially and enhance their access to FSA Farm Loan Programs, USDA Programs, and other beneficial services and resources.

Project should include one or more of the following.

Provide tailored, one-on-one support and technical assistance, to distressed borrowers, financially distressed farmers, and underserved Farmers, Ranchers, and Foresters.

Provide targeted outreach and tailored one-on-one referral services to distressed borrowers, financially distressed farmers, and underserved Farmers, Ranchers, and Foresters.

Available Funding:

Approximately $9,000,000

Award Range:

Up to $300,000 for targeted outreach and tailored one-on-one referral services projects

Up to $600,000 for tailored one-on-one support and technical assistance projects
